Apartment Renovation for a single woman The Owner, the General Manager of one of Manhattan’s major luxury department stores, wanted this 2-bedroom apartment to become a 1-bedroom apartment with more space for living. The Entry was changed to accommodate a large Walk-In Closet adjacent to the Master Bedroom. A 2nd bedroom was converted to a Library/Media Room with built-in cabinetry and was opened up to the Living Room with large sliding pocket doors. The entry into the Living Room is through wide wood-framed openings. The gas fireplace in the Living Room was reactivated and finished with an antique stone mantelpiece. The oak floors were refinished with a dark ebony stain. The Kitchen was redesigned to accommodate a breakfast nook and a pantry. A custom designed built-in vanity is part of the entry to the Master Bedroom suite and a custom cabinet for shoes was created in the Master Bedroom. The Master Bathroom was enlarged to include a large frameless shower with the bathroom walls and vanity finished in Calcutta Gold marble.
