Chiba City Shopping Center, Chiba City, Japan
The San Francisco branch of the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) held a competition with its members to create different versions of the American flag. The Chiba City Shopping Center in Japan asked for an exhibition of these beautiful graphics. Co-designed with the late EtanManasse of Pentagram Design, the Exhibition has four “flag-like” elements: flags hanging in the multi-story space, horizontal booms with graphics, vertical booms with graphics and floor level guides to identify the graphic artist for each graphic. Counterweights were used to balance all the booms.
